I always sell my identified items rather than salvage and selling that. Generally you dont get equal amounts of material=money, and you have to pay for salvaging. Thought ofcourse if the item is a Highly Salvagable (sp?) item I salvage it, but still that sometimes doesnt get the same amount...

I wouldnt know, i salvage only when im certain that the item wil give rare materials, like a 15-22 sword with highly savagable on it, you know youl get steel ingots which are worth more than selling the sword, etc...

You're much better off salvaging than just selling the loot for several items: anything that gives iron/steel, anything that gives scales, plant fibres or feathers.
Interestingly, you will notice that when an item is more valuable at the traders (ie feathers) you will get less than when the material is cheaper. At the moment, you will only get 2 feathers from avicara scalps, however before silver eagle armour was about, you get between 7-9 feathers. Basically though, anything that is valuable at the trader is worth salvaging for, its much quicker making money from mats than trying to make money from selling whites. Another tip, always salvage purple armours - purples give more mats than whites/blues and often come with worthless major runes. |
